FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING A PC FOR MY COURSE

Factors to Consider When Buying A PC for My Course

If I was considering buying a new PC for this course I would definitely consider the following

1. Price: As a student, money is very limited so the price would definitely play a big part in my decision. If I had to have a budget, I would say between £300-£400.
2. Storage: How much storage and memory on the computer itself would play a vital role. I’d consider this because if the computer had little memory and storage, I’d have to buy other storage devices which would cost a significant amount of money.
3. Security: This would be a very important thing to consider because if any of my software developed a virus, it would attack my computer and therefore destroy some of my files. I’d look for a computer package that contained some sort of Antivirus software such as Norton or AVG. This software is quite costly to purchase by itself so if it was included, I would definitely be more inclined to buy it.
4. Printers: If there was a particular brand of printer included with the computer, I would look very closely at the cost of the replacement cartridges and also the cost of getting the same cartridges refilled. Ink cartridges can be very expensive to buy and with my course, I’d be printing a vast amount of material so that’d be a very important factor to consider.
5. Internet: I would definitely have to consider different Internet packages available and how they would be compatible to my PC. Now a days, the internet is a vital tool so I’d have no choice but to consider it.
6. Dimensions: One of the most obvious things to consider would be the actual size of the PC. If I already had a unit bought for the PC, it’s have to fit in it so I would chose to have a small, compact PC and therefore I could fit my other hardware devices around it too.
7. Speed: This is a very important factor to consider. With my course, I’ll constantly need to be doing things so if I leave things till the last minute, I need to know that I can rely on my PC and that it’ll meet my needs.
